Thunderfield walked across the sodden ground. Her eyes welled with tears as she remembered the night before. She had been hunting with Forestpelt, the cat she loved. They had caught two mice. "Sorry Forestpelt,I have to go set up patrols for Clamstar.", she said. Did Forestpelt's eyes light up, or had she imagined it? Her belly was swollen with kits, but no cat could know that. she returned to the clearing where Forestpelt sat. Thunderfield gasped. Forestpelt was sitting with Dewshine, Thunderfield's best friend. Forestpelt was purring. they loved each other, just as she did. Rage filled her. Dewshine's belly was swollen with kits, just as hers was. She jumped out from behind a bush. "i thought you loved me!" Thunderfield yelled at Forestpelt with rage. She lunged at Dewshine and sank her teeth into her throat. Dewshine shuddered, than lay still. "W-what have i done?", she said. "She would have had four kits," Forestpelt mewed. " you have killed five cats!". "No,"Thunderfield said , "six", and dug her claws into his neck.

Thunderfield sighed sadly. Her own kits, two of them, did not move. They had been born dead. Thunderfield felt as though she deserved it. She snapped back to reality. Thunderfield had reached her destination, a small pool of water. She walked in. Six cats walked towards her. "Wh-what? Forestpelt? Dewshine?" "Yes.", they responded in unison,"and the kits Dewshine would have had; Cornkit, Greenkit, Whitekit, and Owlkit." I would have grown up to be the oldest elder MoonClan had ever seen," mewed Cornkit, "why did you kill me?". "I would have been Greenherb, the medicine cat," said Greenkit. "Why did you kill mommy?" mewed Owlkit. "I've come to redeem my punishment." Thunderfield sighed."I'm so sorry." She plunged underwater, sucked in water, and gave way to dizzying blackness.
